Great face shield concept, as mentioned  visceral piece.  Very feasible looking.

great job ...no critique intended, but what i dont get is when its a manipulation & when it becomes a paint when your base/texture on both is a photo, i mean u changed it a fair amount but a paint is done on a white canvas in my book....however
incase u used the photo only 4 reference this comment makes no sense.... its cool anyway :D

Thank you! It is  a overpaint + matte. This techniks often used in concept art.

You take the reference photo and overpaint it - reconstruct the body and detail to make something that you need.
you can check source image here:
www.gettyimages.com/detail/pho…
Then make some mattepainting with background.

yep i checked it, thats why i said u changed it a fair amount ;) but altho more drastic, 2me thats still manipulating from/with photo, while a paint is started on a clean canvas, doesnt make it less awesome, i just dont get the classification sometimes, well done anyway:)

Manipulation is editing what's already there, be it color or form.  Overpaint is replacing it with something completely new...painting over.

Manipulation is like changing the color of your house.  Overpaint is graffiti to make it look like there's a Ferrari parked in the driveway.  ;)
